How do I create an account?
Download the Roots app from the App Store or Google Play Store. Open the app and tap "Sign Up" to create your account using your email address or Apple/Google account. Follow the onboarding process to complete your profile.
What should I do after creating my account?
Complete your profile by adding your interests, location, and a profile picture. Browse and join communities that match your interests. Start connecting with other members by posting, commenting, and participating in discussions.
How do I join a community?
Go to the Discover tab and browse available communities. You can search for specific communities or browse by category. Tap on a community to view its details, then tap "Join" to become a member.
How do I create my own community?
Go to the Communities tab and tap the "+" button. Choose "Create Community" and fill in the required information including name, description, and category. Set your community guidelines and privacy settings.
How do I send a direct message?
Go to the Messages tab and tap the "+" button to start a new conversation. Select the person you want to message from your contacts or search for their username. Type your message and tap send.
I can't log into my account. What should I do?
First, make sure you're using the correct email and password. If you've forgotten your password, use the "Forgot Password" option on the login screen. If you're still having trouble, contact our support team.
The app keeps crashing. How can I fix this?
Try closing the app completely and reopening it. If the problem persists, restart your device. Make sure you have the latest version of the app installed. If crashes continue, contact our support team with details about your device and iOS/Android version.
How do I control my privacy settings?
Go to Settings → Privacy to control who can see your profile, posts, and contact information. You can also manage notification preferences and data sharing settings from this section.
How do I block someone?
Go to the user's profile and tap the three dots menu. Select "Block User" to prevent them from contacting you or seeing your content. You can unblock users later from your Privacy Settings.

App Won't Load
- Check your internet connection
- Close the app completely and reopen it
- Restart your device
- Update to the latest version of the app
- Clear app cache and data (Android) or reinstall the app
Can't Upload Photos
- Check that you've granted camera and photo library permissions
- Ensure you have enough storage space on your device
- Try uploading a smaller image
- Check your internet connection
- Restart the app and try again
Notifications Not Working
- Check your device's notification settings for Roots
- Go to Settings → Notifications in the app
- Make sure you're not in Do Not Disturb mode
- Check that you're logged into the correct account
- Try logging out and back in
